Brandi Carlile

The summer of Brandi Carlile continues.  Following the June release of the impeccable Bear Creek record, Carlile and her band have been hard at work touring in support of the Dave Matthews band. Carlile recently shared this video of her singing John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery” with Matthews (You might recall “Angel From Montgomery” was recently selected as one of our Top 5 duet songs here at Blinded by Sound).

And thanks to our friends at NPR, we now have some new Carlile magic to celebrate – the singer’s Tiny Desk Concert.  This three song set showcases Carlile’s powerhouse vocals on songs from Bear Creek, including a guitar version of the record’s single, “That Wasn’t Me.”  Brandi’s voice is best with minimal amplification (other than her own internal vocal amplifier) – so the Tiny Desk Concert is a perfect platform for her harmonies with twins Phil and Tim Hanseroth.

Brandi and band are kicking off a summer of headlining dates across the country – one of the most notable being the July 14th performance at Red Rocks.  Brandi announced yesterday via Facebook that the Red Rocks show would be filmed by HD Net: “I'm seriously getting off on this because Under a Blood Red Sky (U2's live DVD from Red Rocks) is one of the coolest concerts I've ever seen. As If I weren’t chomping at the bit to play Red Rocks before...I can barely sleep now.”

Get your tickets now, Brandi and her band are on the top of the must see concert list for this summer!
