American Idol Top 24

Now that American Idol has set its Top 24 (to be changed to a Top 25 on Wednesday’s live show) semi-finalists we can finally get down to business and set this train in motion.  Top 13 Guys compete for your votes on Tuesday, February 28; Top 12 Girls compete Wednesday, February 29; with the Finalists announced Thursday, March 1, on FOX.

Things finally start chugging along nicely and we can likely expect another week of two nights for performances and a drawn out elimination show. I hope they have ramped up the spectacle this year and give us some killer live performances from established acts and not just recycle past season’s winners. Mark your calendars kids: after next week’s performance shows, we are voting! The voting begins via Toll-Free phone lines, AT&T Text Messaging & Online at

At the end of each performance show, the phone lines will open for at least two hours and American Idol viewers will be able to vote for their favorite contestant(s) via the branded toll-free telephone numbers (1-866-IDOLS-01, -02, etc.). AT&T wireless subscribers can use their cell phones to vote by texting the word “VOTE” to the four-digit short code (5701, 5702, etc.) that corresponds with the contestant of their choice. Fans will be able to cast their votes online at .

To vote online during the voting window, fans should visit and follow the directions. You will be required to log in using your Facebook account to access the American Idol voting page, which will feature the name and photo of each of the current contestants. To vote, fans will simply choose their favorite contestant, complete the security verification and submit their choice. After each performance show and during the online voting window, fans may cast up to 50 total online votes for that evening's performances. Only fans with a registered Facebook account in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands will be able to cast their vote(s) online.

Idol has passively joined the technologically advanced world we live in and not only has given all 24 current semi-finalists their own Twitter and Facebook pages but released that for us so we can stalk, er – appreciate our favorites from the very start of their hopefully long careers.

Meet your Top 24, like, follow and “appreciate” them all, and tell them HippyGirlHeather sent you.
