American Idol Season 10

A little behind on getting this out...my apologies, I was funning and sunning in Cali, so I know you forgive me. This week's theme is "Songs From The 21st Century." Wow, way to narrow it down, Idol. Anyway, that is the theme so what should our remaining seven contestants sing this week? Here are my picks:

Haley Reinhart: "Chasing Pavements" by Adele would be "in her wheelhose" as JLo likes to say however, Little Miss Obvious will probably pick "Don't Know Why" by Norah Jones. I'd be okay with "Mercy" by Duffy and "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera as long as she just sits down, sings, and doesn't move, this could be brilliant; or be her demise. I'm hoping for the latter.

Lauren Alaina: OK, this one's probably not what you're thinking but, "Umbrella" by Rihanna would be genius.  She could go for Mandy Moore's more sedated, stripped down version even but I think she could do a similar arrangement to the original and add some twang and be adorable. "White Horse" or "You Belong With Me"by Taylor Swift would be fine but, her voice is richer and actually superior to T-Swift's and she would be limiting herself a bit.

Jacob Lusk- I have a sneaking suspicion that Jacob will jump feet first into "Beautiful" by Xtina. "To Where You Are" or "The Prayer" by Josh Groban would work, too. Just please no Beyonce or Mary J Blige.

Stefano Langone- "Fireflies" by Owl City, on the piano... PLEASE! I would also vote for him if he does "Haven't Met You Yet" by Michael Buble, "No One's Gonna Love You" by Band Of Horses, or "Cry Me A River" Justin Timberlake (I think this song is terrible but, I'm so beyond caring about Stefano or his song choice. He'll be mediocre overall and JLo will love him).

Casey Abrams-  Should do anything from Mumford and Sons, Kings Of Leon, or The Killers. "Mr. Brightside" would make my year, "Trouble" by Ray LaMontagne is a solid-but-obvious choice, I also could really hear him on "No One's Gonna Love You" by Band Of Horses... I just want to hear this song!

James Durbin- I'm picking "Mr. Brightside" for him as well, "The Kill" 30 Seconds To Mars, "In The End" Linkin Park,
"Down With The Sickness" by Disturbed. "St. Anger" by Metallica or even "Bat Country" or "Afterlife" by Avenged Sevenfold would be fun as well. That being said, if he did "Seven Nation Army" by White Stripes I'd vote for him 100 times via text until he's eliminated or wins. I promise.

Scotty McCreery-  "Live Like You Were Dying" Tim McGraw is a pretty obvious and safe choice but, our boy will do another Josh Turner song... bank on it. Maybe even the one from his audition. A total long shot that would do wonders for him would be "Hurt"- the Johnny Cash version. I don't even know if he could pull it off but he'd show he has balls and stop playing it so vanilla and safe. He might also be drawn to "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning?" which is Alan Jackson's tribute to September 11th. And while it might seem too heavy for Idol performance night, I don't think it'd be taboo or off limits to Scotty all.

OK, I had to do these while running errands, I know I missed many obvious and good choices, but these sprang to mind first. What do you think? What would you like the final seven contestants to sing?
