Fiona Apple's incredible new album The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do, her first new music in seven years, is in stores today and is getting rave reviews and now she has announced a second leg to her tour in support of it.
I'm devastated because she is playing the best venue in the world and the only seat I can get is behind a pole at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. This next leg will take her out west and across the southeast again and she's added an Atlanta date so I may have to see if I can have better luck, but I'm not optimistic. Apple records are rare, tours rarer. This new album is incredible and I'm distraught at the likelihood I won't hear it performed live. Enough of my whining (but this really is tragic)…
The first leg of her tour wraps up at the end of July and she'll take a month off before kicking things off in San Jose, CA and working her way across the southwest and traveling eastward with stops across Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, and then moving back up the east coast.
Here are the dates for the tour's first leg and below is the full run of US dates for the second. Learn from my painful lesson: be quick about it if you want to catch her on this tour.
