Time once again for my cynical, condescending look at the biggest songs and albums at the iTunes Music Store. In what has to be considered a mild upset, I have nice things to say about some of this material for a second week in a row.

It will always be easy and enjoyable for me to praise The Black Keys' Brothers. The Keys were interviewed this week by Terri Gross for her Fresh Air program on NPR. I didn't get to hear it but it can still be accessed online.

We discussed The Decemberists' The King Is Dead last week when it was #1. It falls to #5 this week. I haven't had a chance to listen a second time, having been working on reviews of Rich Del Grosso & Jonn Del Toro Richardson's Time Slips On By, Todd Sharpville's Porchlight, and Gregg Allman's Low Country Blues but I am going to return to it, soon. I should also mention Cold War Kids' Mine Is Yours, the #7 album, and point you to Jordan Richardson's review. I'll also mention The Script's Science & Faith because apparently there is a song by them that surfaced on American Idol and HippyGirlHeather was all the rage for this.

I'm not wasting time bagging on the Top 10 singles. I've heard some critics favorably inclined towards Britney's "Hold It Against Me" but that's not an avenue I'm ever going to travel and I can't bring myself to really listen to any of these others. I'm sure I'm all kinds of wrong for taking a pass on them but I just can't do it.
