Adele Gives The Finger At Brit Awards, Dominates iTunes Charts

Adele has been in headlines since the Grammys for performances, middle digits, daddy issues, and boyfriends, current and past. She's also made comments about taking time off or not before starting her next record. My advice: go on holiday, love. You have three singles in iTunes' Top 10 and your album is again/still #1 (and your debut is #4), holding off Whitney Houston in the first full week since her tragic passing. Rest the voice and take your time, is what. Houston represented at #2 on the singles and albums chart this week, as well.

The non-Adele and Whitney singles come from Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, and everyone's favorite bad girl of the moment: Nicki Minaj. I hope she's keeping track of her papers because this is one I don't see having a long shelf life. VH-1 is going to love her on one of their 200 reality shows in about 13 more minutes.

Let's jump album side where my BFF The Civil Wars have landed at #3. I regret having not spent time reviewing that album because I just love it. I think the problem is I listened to it so much and got so close to it, I couldn't find the words to explain it. It got inside me and fully absorbed and now I don't think about it, I just listen. It made my Best of 2011 so if you haven't bought this CD or downloaded it (legally), do yourself a favor and do it without further hesitation. Love them.

We've also got the latest Coldplay disc, Grammy-winner Bon Iver, and the new set from Denver's The Fray. Their latest is called Scars & Stories and it checks in at #9 in its first week of release.
