Be careful what you wish for, kids, because you just might get it. I've been whinging for weeks about Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis being the #1 song on the charts at radio as well at iTunes and Spotify and now we have a new #1 song, at least at iTunes: "Just Give Me A Reason" by Pink. I guess I'm going to have to be more clear next time when I talk about wanting a change on the charts. This was not what I had in mind.

The aforementioned dunderhead duo fall from #1 to #2, followed by Rihanna, Bruno Mars, and Justin Timberlake. Speaking of Timberlake, his The 20/20 Experience is #1 on the iTunes album chart and sold a shocking 900,000 copies on CD in its first week. It's not a shock that he went to #1 (well, I guess I'm a little surprised but not much) but that total in physical media in this day and age qualifies as massive in the first week. Mixed reviews haven't slowed it down; I guess the people have spoken. Allow me to retort: BOO!

I'd like to say there is at least one song or album in these 20 selections that doesn't cause me souldeath but I can't. There isn't. It's bad. All of it. Okay, there might be a couple items that merely draw my indifference but there's a lot of souldeath on these charts and I have hatred in my heart. Bowie's The Next Day has already dropped out of the Top 10. Savagely disappointed in you all. I'm keeping score and I'm winning.
