I promised last week I would listen to a track from The Lumineers' self-titled album when writing about the Top 10 The Lumineers - most-streamed tracks on Spotify , having mentioned I was hearing a lot about them but hadn't actually listened to them. I was on the verge of blowing off that little promise until BlindedBySound ace contributor Heather demanded I listen to them, knowing nothing of my pledge. This is a teachable moment, kids. Lesson 1: you should always keep your promises. Lesson 2: it's really, really good to have friends who have great taste in music.

"Ho Hey," the song appearing on both the US and UK, is actually really good even though I don't love the title. It's not the best song on their album -- which I now own -- by a long shot but only because the album is so good rather than "Ho Hey" being bad. I'm falling in love with this record. I suspect I will spend more time mocking what appears on this list from week to week than praising it but today I take a moment to salute all of you who've put The Lumineers at #2 in the US and #3 in the UK. Heed my words, children, and get thee to the music provider of your choice and hear this album. Do it. Now. And then go stream Vintage Trouble's The Bomb Shelter Sessions and get them into this Top 10. They're playing Conan O'Brien next week, so stay tuned!

And now we talk about songs and artists I care decidedly less about that you are all listening to at the moment. The #1 songs in the US and UK remain the same with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' appalling "Thrift Shop" taking the top spot here and will.i.am holding onto it in the UK with his "Scream & Shout." "Scream & Shout" wasn't in the US Top 10 last week but is a Top 5 song here as well. Speaking of the US Top 5, Imagine Dragons hold the #3 and #4 position with "Radioactive" and "It's Time." I haven't heard of them or these songs. I'm not going so far as to promise but I might at least stream one of the two just for the sake of familiarity.

Our British fans haven't yet tired of Rihanna or Ke$ha but one day they will and they may never forgive their former colonies for exporting them. I don't know if this will make them want to send the Redcoats back to try and save us from ourselves or to be very thankful they gave up the fight.

With that, I remind you to listen to Lumineers and Vintage Trouble and present for your perusal the Top 10 most streamed tracks on Spotify from Monday, Jan. 21, to Sunday, Jan. 27:
