"Thrift Shop" Remains #1 At Spotify in US, "Pompeii" #1 in UK

We took a brief hiatus at BlindedBySound to migrate servers and platforms and it was my deepest desire by the time we resumed you'd be tired of that dumbass song "Thrift Shop" but alas, it remains the most streamed track in the US at Spotify. I get that my listening habits tend to differ from the mass (and younger) audience. I get that a novelty song can catch on Gangnam Style and it will hold the attention of the collective for awhile. I don't get this.

The Lumineers continue to hold their own at Spotify with "Hey Ho" still in the Top 5 along with Imagine Dragons, Bruno Mars, and A$AP Rocky. Talk about dumbass. I'm betting that i$n't the name on his birth certificate. What a dopey moniker.
Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie" is in the Top 10 along with Calvin Harris, will.i.am, Drake, and the oh-so threating sounding Swedish House Mafia.

baauer-harlem-shake-cover-story-phil-knott-990-410.jpgThat's your US Top 10. Crossing the pond, Bastille's "Pompeii" is #1 followed by... oh, god... "Thrift Shop." This is further evidence America has not cornered the market on morons. More scorn for the British Empire: "Harlem Shake" is in the Top 10! Johnny Marr has a killer new record out, David Bowie released two singles from his new record, and you lot are listening to "Thrift Shop" and "Harlem Shake"? It's not paranoia when the world really is out to kill you. Foals, Avicii, and Disclosure are the other acts in the UK Top 10 not hitting big here in the States.
