Timberlake Tops Spotify in US, Bastille's "Pompeii" Tops in UK

Victory can be overrated, kids. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have been dethroned as the most streamed track at Spotify in the US! Huzzah! By Justin Timberlake. Piece of damn it! What is wrong with you people?

Timberlake has logged massive sales of his The 20/20 Experience this week and people are streaming several tracks from it, two of which are in the US Top 10 and two in the UK Top 10. Macklemore and Lewis are still strong presences on the US and UK charts. It's worth noting that while Pink has the top-selling song in the US at iTunes, she's missing from the Top 10 at Spotify (she is in the UK Top 10).

The one glimmer of hope in the US and UK charts continues to be The Lumineers and "Ho Hey." I listened to my favorite Lumineers track this morning ("Ho Hey" isn't it but I like it a lot) and take comfort some of you are hearing it, too. Check out the rest of that album and then go listen to the self-titled debut by The Lone Bellow. Do it. Now.

Across the pond, Bastille's "Pompeii" continues to hold the #1 with the remainder of their Top 10 looking similar to the US. One other difference between the US and the UK is the presence of godawful One Direction. There will always be teenage boy bands and I'm not sure if these kids are any more insipid than the others we've endured but I'm against them. I want that on the record.
