As you might have noticed by all of the top notch reviews flying around here at Blinded by Sound, there are some great records out. And even more on the way. In anticipation of these new releases, it seems more and more artists are giving listeners the option to stream the record before its release. This, to music lovers far and wide, is ridiculously cool.

Since most of my waking hours have been spent tethered to various album streams lately I thought it might be helpful to put a few of them in one place. So without further ado, here’s what I’m listening to these days:

 New Music

  • The record from the UK’s Gomez Whatever’s on Your Mind (release date 6/21 ATO records), brought to us by the kind folks at Paste: Gomez Stream
  • Bon Iver’s new self titled record, a fantastic follow up to 2008’s For Emma, Forever Ago (release date 6/21), courtesy of our friends at NPR: Bon Iver Stream
  • Matt Nathanson’s Modern Love (release date 6/21): Matt Nathanson Stream
  • Nashville duo Jeff, the Brotherhood We Are The Champions (release date 6/21): Jeff, the Brotherhood Stream
  •  Not So New Music

  • Re-mastered solo Paul McCartney, MCCartney: McCartney Stream and McCartney II: McCartney II Stream (and don't forget, Blinded By Sound is giving away a copy of each of these albums. Get the details here and win!).
  • Neil Young, live cuts from his '84-'85 tour: Neil Young Stream
  •  Live Sets

The delightful folks at NPR have full live sets from the Sasquatch Music Festival.

    Highlights are:

  • Guided By Voices: Guided By Voices
  • Bob Mould: Bob Mould
  • The Head and the Heart: The Head and the Heart
  • Wilco: Wilco
  • To those websites kind enough to provide us with live streams, and the artists who make it possible, a very sincere thank you. Being a fan of all things music is so much cooler with the inter-webs. That said, what am I missing? What are you streaming these days?
